This award is open to all sites, commercial or
personal which adhere to the Rules and Criteria required.
The Silver Lining Award is open to all sites, commercial
or personal.
Sites submitted must be family-friendly and kid safe.
No exceptions!
No profanity, nudity, racism, violence,
drugs, pornography, hate sites or links displayed to those types of
sites. No sites which promote illegal activities. No sites which exist
solely to make disparaging remarks about other sites. No sites which
participate in web wars. No blogs!
You must be at least 18 years old to enter.
Limited banners and ads on the main body of the site.
Pop-up ads are discouraged.
No sites with links-only to other sites.
Credit must be given for graphics or backgrounds (linkware) not
designed by the site's owner or webmaster.
Site must be easy to navigate with limited broken links.
No under construction signs. Download time should be
reasonable. Site must present an overall appearance of eye-appealing coordinated design with
limited use of animated graphics. If music or sound is provided on pages
there must be a feature to enable the visitor to turn it off.
Commercial sites which sell products online must provide
secure online payment methods and have a return policy and privacy
policy clearly stated
somewhere on the site. No exceptions!
Sites which provide submission forms should have a
Privacy Policy and Terms of Use Page with a link to the page near the
submission form submit button. There should be a statement or button
requiring that the person submitting the form is 18 years of age or older to
prevent the solicitation of underage applicants!
You must provide a link back to Virginia Voices in
Action with our award. Sites which do not provide a link back to our
site will not be posted in our winners' list.
The Silver Lining Award must be displayed on a separate
awards
page with our link back.
Submissions will be reviewed within 7-14 days. Only winners
will be notified. All decisions of the panel of judges is final.
We only accept submissions from sites in English
or with translation provided.
We reserve the right to remove names immediately and
without notice from our winner's list at any time if we find the Rules and
Criteria for this award have been abused or broken at a future date!
