A very special fundraiser was held on March 15, 2003 to
raise money for Children's Miracle Network. Proceeds
benefit Children's Hospital of Richmond
and Virginia Commonwealth Children's Medical Center.
Justin, grandson of Norma Draper
of VIA was invited as a guest at the Dance Marathon
and was personally sponsored by the Brothers of Sigma
Alpha Epsilon fraternity at Randolph-Macon College in
Ashland, VA.
Upon arrival, Rachael, Sarah
and
some of the brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon greeted Justin.
There were large banners hanging from the balcony at Brock
Recreation and Fitness Center which displayed Justin's name
and the name of his wonderful sponsoring fraternity in bold
letters proclaiming, "we love Justin!" It made Justin feel
very special!
During Justin and Norma's visit as guests
at the Dance Marathon he was treated like royalty!
Participants played ball with Justin, which is one of his
favorite activities. He danced and watched the young men and
women involved in all the various activities designed to
have fun while raising money for this worthy cause. Justin
especially enjoyed the dancing and lively music! Listening
to music is another of Justin's favorite pastimes and
probably one of his favorite things to do in the whole
world!

Justin also enjoyed watching the other
games such as jousting and knocking each other off their
"pedestals." The entire day day's events were glorious fun
with activities such as "Radio Disney, Moon Walk Castle,
Laser Tag and 3-Legged Twister!" Other exciting activities
included The Limbo and Hula Hoop contests, face painting and
various crafts along with the non-stop Dance Marathon.
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of
everyone involved who made this event a roaring success and
for making all the special guests feel so loved. Their
tireless efforts and hard work raised a total of $23,000
for a very worthy cause!
