An Active All-Volunteer Support Group . . .

Welcome to VA Voices in Action, a support group for parents of children, youth and adults with disabilities and their families. We are a strictly volunteer organization based in Central Virginia and coordinated by Norma Draper of Hopewell, Virginia.

Become An Advocate For People With Disabilities. . .

Please email Norma Draper for more information about our meetings or if you are interested in joining our disability support group. Our goals are to advocate, educate, encourage, empower and support parents of children and adults with disabilities. To advocate and support positive change in the community for children, youth or adults with disabilities. Through our monthly meetings and fun social events planned throughout the year we will share information, ideas and resources in a continuing effort to form new and lasting friendships and help relieve the loneliness often associated with caring for people with disabilities.

Our Support Group Goals . . .

Grab our Logo. Show your support!Norma Draper, coordinator for Virginia Voices in Action, is a graduate of Virginia Partners in Policymaking Class 0f 2002-2003. She has recently been appointed by the Governor of Virginia to The Virginia Board For People With Disabilities. VA Voices in Action is a result of her participation in Partners in Policymaking and the leadership training through The Virginia Board for People with Disabilities. She is also the personal guardian for her grandson Justin who has a disability. Her love and commitment to Justin and other children and adults with disabilities were her inspiration for coordinating Virginia Voices in Action. (VIA) Her goals for the support group are to reach as many people as possible in her area and throughout Virginia with her passion to help and advocate for people with disabilities. To form lasting friendships with people who have similar goals and enrich the lives of people with disabilities and their families through education and advocacy. READ ABOUT OUR VERY FIRST MEETING.
